How to get there

Barcelona, one of the most dynamic and modern European cities, occupies a strategic position as capital of a Mediterranean region. It is very well connected by several transport systems.

Barcelona is fully integrated in the Spanish and European motorway network and has a complete and efficient system of access and ring roads.

Barcelona port ranks second in Europe with regard to freight traffic and first in terms of cruisers. It has regular lines sailing to the Balearic Islands, Italy and Algeria.

Its airport is a major window to the world with over 27 million passengers a year. It connects with Europe and North Africa, North and South America and the Middle East and Far East.

Barcelona’s railway network connects the city with the different peninsular and European capitals as well as the regional and metropolitan areas.

The Montjuīc and Gran Vía exhibition centres are easily reached by road and are close to the airport, the port and the main railway station. The existence of a public transport system (underground, buses and trams) guarantees access to any part of Barcelona and its metropolitan area.
